Property Damage in Fort Pierce & Port St. Lucie Has Its Own Challenges

Fort Pierce and Port St. Lucie run together across St. Lucie County, and the property here is anything but uniform. Older homes downtown near the water, newer construction out through Tradition, waterfront homes on Hutchinson Island, and everything from Jensen Beach and Stuart up to Vero Beach.

What they share is exposure to tropical systems, wind-driven rain, and surge off the Atlantic and the Indian River Lagoon. Our Public Adjusters inspect the loss, document what the damage actually is, and prepare the estimate and supporting claim documentation before the file goes back to the insurance company.

Frequently asked questions

What does a Public Adjuster actually do?

The adjuster the insurance company sends works for the insurance company. A Public Adjuster is licensed to work for you on your property insurance claim. We inspect and document the loss, price the repairs, read the policy, and present the claim on your behalf.

My carrier already sent an adjuster. Is it too late to call you?

No, and this is when most people call us. A carrier inspection and a first estimate are a starting position, not a final one. We compare their scope against what we document, and where repairs were missed or underpriced, we put together a supplement.

What if my claim was underpaid, delayed, or denied?

That is a large part of the work at this office. We look at the policy, the carrier's reasoning, and the damage itself, then re-document the loss and present the evidence for reconsideration.

Do you handle hurricane and windstorm claims in Fort Pierce and Port St. Lucie?

Yes, and it is the bulk of what this office does. We handle wind, wind-driven rain, and roof losses, along with the interior damage that shows up later. See our hurricane and windstorm page for more.

What about flood and storm surge?

Yes. Along the lagoon and on Hutchinson Island, wind and water damage frequently overlap in the same loss, which makes documentation and coverage questions complicated. Part of our job is establishing how the damage occurred and which coverage responds.

Do you work with condo owners and associations?

Both. Condo losses usually involve figuring out where the association's master policy ends and the unit owner's HO-6 coverage begins, and we take claims on either side of that line.

Do you handle commercial property claims?

Yes. Owners and tenants, including the building, tenant improvements, equipment and contents, and business interruption while the space cannot be used.

Do you cover Port St. Lucie as well as Fort Pierce?

Yes. This office handles both, along with Tradition, Hutchinson Island, Jensen Beach, Stuart, Palm City, Vero Beach, and Sebastian. The two cities run together and we work claims across the whole area.

When should I call?

Sooner is better, ideally before you file, so the loss is documented while the evidence is fresh. That said, we take files at any stage, including claims that have been open for months.

Which areas does this office cover?

Our Fort Pierce office primarily serves Fort Pierce, Port St. Lucie, Tradition, Hutchinson Island, Jensen Beach, Stuart, Palm City, Vero Beach, Sebastian, and the surrounding Treasure Coast. Our team also handles claims farther along Florida's east coast when needed, and VIP Adjusting's four Florida offices provide statewide representation.

What does it cost?

Reviewing your loss is always free. Public Adjusters in Florida work on contingency, a percentage of the claim recovery, so there is nothing up front and nothing out of pocket. No recovery means no fee.
